AHTCC Signs Industry Letter In Response to Treasury Report

September 05, 2007

On September 5, 2007, the Coalition signed onto an industry letter submitted to U.S. Department of Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson in response the Treasury's report "Treasury Conference on Business Taxation and Global Competitiveness."

The July 24, 2007 report included recommendations to eliminate tax incentive programs such as the Low Income Housing Tax Credit.   The letter expressed alarm at such recommendations and explained that the Housing Credit program is, in fact, the single greatest affordable rental production program in the country.

The industry letter - included below - was cosigned by AHTCC and 8 additional companies and organizations and was copied to the House Ways and Means and Senate Finance Committees which oversee the program.
