Julie Sharp

Merchants Capital

AHTCC Secretary

Julie Sharp is Senior Vice President of Merchants Capital, a national multi-family financing firm that has deployed more than $22 billion in agency financing  to support multifamily properties across the United States, with a strong emphasis on affordable housing. Julie established the firm’s tax credit equity platform in 2020 and leads the Merchants Capital affordable housing tax credit syndication business, focusing on investor relations, acquisitions, underwriting, and asset management.  Prior to joining Merchants Capital, Julie began her career at CREA, where she closed more than $1B in equity financing into the firm’s multi-investor, proprietary, and secondary fund offerings. She serves on the board of the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition in Washington, D.C. and the Indiana chapter of the Women’s Affordable Housing Network. Julie received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Economics with a concentration in Finance from Ball State University and lives in Carmel, Indiana with her husband and three children.
