Will Blodgett is a lifelong entrepreneur focused on making a difference. In 2021, he founded Tredway, an affordable and mixed-income real estate developer focused on building and preserving high-quality, high-opportunity housing across America. Tredway is built on Will’s unwavering belief that safe, accessible, affordable housing is an important catalyst for upward socioeconomic mobility, is an essential part of fostering equity in America today and is a moral obligation for us as a society.
Before Tredway, Will was a founding partner of the real estate development firm Fairstead. During his eight-year tenure, Will grew Fairstead into one of the nation’s largest owners of multifamily housing and set the vision for the firm’s affordable housing strategy, bringing innovation to the industry through the use of data, empathy and technology. Will got his start at The Related Companies where he managed the acquisition, financing, and development of over 4,500 units in the firm’s Affordable Housing Group. He also served as a Special Advisor to the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). He is a member of the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition and Affordable Housing Developer’s Council.
A champion of the underdog, Will is deeply committed to causes that support underserved youth and emphasizes the connection between sports and academics. He sits on the board of The American Institute for Stuttering (AIS), the Children’s Museum of Manhattan (CMOM) and New Heights Youth, a sport-based youth development program.
Over the course of his career, Will has been a successful early-stage investor, partnering with forward-thinking self-starters who share his dedication to catalyzing growth and empowering tangible change. He was named ‘Innovator of the Year’ by the Commercial Observer in 2020 and is currently ranked on City & State’s Real Estate Power 100 and was named a 2022 Notable Leader in Real Estate by Crain’s New York Business.
Will holds a BA from Yale and an MBA from MIT. He lives in Manhattan with his wife and three children.
