Alice Carr is the Chief Executive Officer for April Housing, a Blackstone portfolio company committed to the preservation and creation of affordable housing throughout the United States. The company is headquartered in Los Angeles and owns one of the nation’s largest LIHTC portfolios. Alice is responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s strategy and operations, including a company commitment to invest over $500MM in the next 5 years to improve, preserve, and expand the supply of affordable housing. With more than 25 years of industry experience, Alice most recently served as the Head of Community Development Banking at JPMorgan Chase (JPMC), leading a national team that financed the construction and rehabilitation of affordable housing to both low-income families and seniors. Previously, Alice served as Managing Director for Citi Community Capital, and she began her career at Low Income Investment Fund, a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) focused on affordable housing and small business lending. Alice places an emphasis on DEI initiatives and, at JPMC, was the executive sponsor of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council for the Commercial Real Estate Business and served as a member of the Inclusionary Leadership Forum for the Commercial Bank. Additionally, Alice served as Chair of the Board of Directors for California Community Redevelopment Consortium (CCRC) from 2011 through 2020, and she has served on the Board of Directors for Enterprise Community Investment and Enterprise Community Loan Fund since 2017.
