The East Lake Commons development represents the culmination of several years of planning and design for the site that will transform a city block into a vibrant community above the Oswego River on the city’s east side. The property was developed by Home Leasing, LLC and syndicated by Red Stone Equity Partners using the 4 percent Housing Credit.
East Lake Commons includes 70 mixed-income apartments, approximately 3,500 sq. ft. of commercial space on the first floor and parking for 100 cars. The 70 apartments will have one- and two-bedroom affordable, mixed-income apartments. The project includes an elevator, handicap accessibility, on-site parking and several homes will be set aside for physically handicapped residents. Amenities include air conditioning, dishwashers, on-site laundry, community room, rental office, and tenant storage. Building design incorporated handicap accessibility from the beginning of the project.
The property is within walking distance of multiple bus stops that run within and around Oswego, with the nearest bus stop being located directly adjacent to the property’s city block. An elementary school, middle school, and high school are all within 5-minute drive. The location of the property within downtown Oswego puts it close to many local commercial centers, providing significant employment opportunities.
