THE PEARL

The Pearl is an adaptive reuse of the historic Holiday Inn Jackson Southwest Motel, originally built in 1962. It now features 76 one- and two-bedroom affordable apartments for seniors aged 55 and older. The building comprises 60 homes for seniors, 4 homes for special needs residents, and 2 homes for the homeless, all maintained as affordable housing at 30 – 60 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI).

Residents of The Pearl will have access to an onsite community health center and a dedicated community health navigator, who will facilitate connections to resources that address social determinants of health.

Financing for this property was provided by Regions Affordable Housing, and it was developed by Gulf Coast Housing Partnership and Pearl Street Community Development Corporation, utilizing the 9 percent Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (Housing Credit).
