Iris Bashein is a Senior Vice President in Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Community Development Banking group, responsible for managing the group’s indirect low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) equity originations. In this role, she drives approximately 30% of the Bank’s LIHTC equity production by working with syndicators Ms. Bashein joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch in December 2003. During her 15+ years with the company, she has held several roles in community development on the equity origination, asset management and permanent debt platforms and has been in the forefront of product development. In her most recent role, Ms. Bashein established the Bank’s affordable housing permanent financing platform, including FHA multifamily lending, leading the group to be among the top 10 affordable FHA MAP lenders in 2018. Lastly, Ms. Bashein developed and managed the team of investment analysts who evaluate and assist in structuring the Bank’s tax credit equity investments. Ms. Bashein is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the District of Columbia.
