HUD-Approved Housing Counseling Agencies
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) sponsors housing counseling agencies throughout the country that can provide advice on a variety of housing issues, including renting a home, buying a home, and credit issues. State Housing Finance Agencies
Each state has a Housing Finance Agency which works to meet its state’s affordable housing needs. Use the link above to access your state agency’s website, which will provide contact information and details about resources and assistance that the agency is able to provide.
HUD Affordable Housing Locator
The above HUD map shows affordable housing properties, including Housing Credit properties, which you can contact to inquire about vacancies and eligibility requirements. The map also provides location and contact information for Public Housing Authorities, which may be able to help you to understand your options for publicly assisted affordable housing in your area.
Federal and State Disaster Assistance
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security provides disaster relief resources for those impacted by national disasters such as wildfires, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, and earthquakes. Use this resource to connect to FEMA and local disaster resources in your area.

The Aunt Bertha social care network allows you to search for free or reduced cost services like housing, medical care, food, transportation, job training and more.
