From January 24 – 25, 2024, the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition held its 2024 Annual Meeting in Charleston, South Carolina. Attendees benefited from educational sessions on the most pressing issues facing the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (Housing Credit), remarks from special guests, including Congressman James Clyburn (D-SC) and Geona Shaw Johnson, Director of the Charleston Department of Housing and Community Development, and networking opportunities. AHTCC Adopts 2024 Legislative and Regulatory Priorities
Since 1988, the AHTCC has been at the forefront of efforts to protect, strengthen, and expand the Housing Credit. In 2024, we will continue fighting for legislative proposals to increase Housing Credit production, including restoring the temporary 12.5 percent allocation increase that has now expired and lowering the bond financing threshold test; promoting Housing Credit regulatory flexibilities; and protecting Housing Credit investment in efforts like Community Reinvestment Act reforms, Pillar 2 rules implementing a global minimum tax, or any other regulations that may directly or indirectly impact the Housing Credit.

He currently serves as the Assistant Democratic Leader in the House of Representatives, and previously served as Majority Whip from 2007 to 2010, and 2019 to 2022.
