The Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition (AHTCC) is seeking a Policy and Advocacy Intern who is interested in promoting affordable housing through public policy, specifically by working to expand and strengthen the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (Housing Credit). The intern will work closely with the AHTCC team to track legislation and congressional developments, gather data on affordable housing, assist with the development of advocacy resources, stay up to date on issues impacting affordable housing, and provide support for AHTCC events.
This Policy and Advocacy internship is an optimal opportunity for candidates who hope to make a meaningful contribution to an organization advocating for affordable housing policy. The ideal candidate for this internship will have an interest in promoting affordable housing and public policy, demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, have strong attention to detail, and be comfortable working as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
This part-time Policy and Advocacy internship will run 3-4 months, with the potential for further extension. The position will be fully remote with the option for occasional in-person work in Washington, D.C., where the AHTCC team is based. However, we will consider candidates who do not live in the Washington, D.C., area and will need to work remotely part-time.
