2025 Recognition of Housing Tax Credit Excellence

The 2025 Recognition of Housing Tax Credit Excellence Honorees were recognized at a ceremony on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in Washington, DC.

The ten honorees of the 2025 Recognition of Housing Tax Credit Excellence represent 10 Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (Housing Credit) developments that strengthen communities, improve resident opportunities and support economies across the country. Honorees who received recognition of Housing Tax Credit Excellence include affordable housing developments across eight states and one U.S. territory, with locations in rural areas such as Clinton, Tennessee, and Cortez, Colorado, and in metropolitan areas including New Orleans and Los Angeles.

Past Winners

CHARLES L. EDSON

Charles L. Edson is an affordable housing luminary who was Transition Director for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under President Carter and served in the HUD Office of the General Counsel. He was  Co-Editor-in-Chief of Housing and Development Reporter for nearly 40 years, a founding partner of law firm Lane and Edson and partner at Nixon Peabody LLP.

Since 1986, the Housing Credit has financed more than three million homes for low-income households, including veterans, senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, essential workers, and families with children. Learn more.
