Linda’s Place brought 87 new affordable rental homes in two elevator-serviced buildings for seniors aged 62 and older to the town of Shepherdsville, Kentucky. The development provides much needed affordable housing for seniors in the area in the form of one and two-bedroom apartments. There 22 apartments rent-restricted at 50 percent of AMI, 57 apartments rent-restricted at 60 percent AMI, and 8 apartments rent-restricted at 70 percent AMI. 

This innovative development features a variety of amenities geared towards seniors, including a seniors-focused fitness room, a computer lab providing access to Senior Computers, a community garden with raised garden beds, dishwashers, over-the-range microwaves in all apartments, and in-unit washer and dryers. Beyond its affordability and other amenities, Linda’s Place has a ‘pets allowed’ policy for all units with a dog park included at the property.

Financing for this property was facilitated by Boston Financial and developed by a nonprofit affiliate of Beacon Property called SOCAYR, Inc. Linda’s Place was developed using the 9 percent Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (Housing Credit).
