Palm Port is the new construction of 126 homes consisting of 6 three-story buildings plus a clubhouse, on approximately 8.43 acres located in North Port, Sarasota County, Florida. Construction began in October 2020. The property will be 100 percent affordable, with homes restricted to residents earning between 22 percent and 60 percent of the area median income. The Property will include 12 one-bedroom/one-bath homes, 82 two-bedroom/two-bath homes and 32 three-bedroom/two bath homes.

Community amenities will include a standalone clubhouse with a leasing office, on-site management, community room with kitchen, business center/computer lab, exercise facility and a covered porch, shuffleboard, and splash pad. Supportive social services will be provided free of charge to all residents including, various literacy lessons to strengthen reading, writing skills, and comprehension as well as evaluation of current job skills, setting job goals, assistance in development of an individualized plan for each participating resident, resume assistance, interview preparation and placement/follow up services.

This property was financed using the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (Housing Credit). Financing for Palm Port was facilitated by R4 Capital. The developer and owner is Southport Development.
