SAISON NORTH
Austin, Texas
Located at 10010 N. Capital of Texas Highway in Austin, on the former site of the NXNW Brewery, Saison North is a new, mixed-income, five-story affordable housing development offering 116 one-, two-, and three-bedroom housing options for families with a range of incomes. Eighty-two of the apartment homes are reserved for households earning up to 30 percent, 50 percent, and 60 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI), with the remaining homes being market-rate. Mixed-income housing developments like Saison North help reduce the negative effects of concentrated poverty by integrating low-income residents into an economically diverse community. Saison North preserves the legacy of the NXNW Brewery by adaptively reusing iconic building elements and integrating them into unique works of art displayed throughout the property.
The homes are equipped with in-home appliances, including a refrigerator, stovetop oven, dishwasher, microwave, garbage disposal, and washer/dryer connections. Saison North includes thoughtfully designed shared spaces that promote meaningful interaction among residents of various income groups. These include a fully furnished clubhouse with a community kitchen and meeting room, a fitness center, two courtyards, a kids’ playroom, and a computer lab. The development is proximate to over 20,000 employment opportunities and offers free resident services through Housing Support Services Alliance, including on-site case management, financial literacy programs, and referrals to community-based resources.
Saison North was developed by O-SDA Industries, with Hunt Capital Partners as the investor.
