ST. MICHAEL’S APARTMENTS

St. Michael’s Apartments is a permanent supportive housing and LIHTC development comprised of 50 one, two-story, or walk-up garden-style apartments for households earning up to 30, 50, 60, and 80 percent of the AMI. Of the 50 homes, 24 at the 30 percent AMI level are set aside as permanent supportive housing for chronically homeless individuals.
The apartment homes are outfitted with amenities such as a patio/balcony, central air conditioning, coat closets, and a full appliance package that includes an electric range, frost-free refrigerator, oven, a microwave, and dishwasher. Tenants under California’s No Place Like Home (“NPLH”) program are provided with fully furnished homes. Residents also have access to a clubhouse/community room, courtyard/recreation area, wireless internet, central laundry rooms, and an array of resident services. The St. Michael’s Episcopal Church provided a long-term ground lease to take lead in developing a high-quality affordable housing solution that met the needs of Riverside’s most vulnerable.
Mercy House is the lead service provider that provides wrap-around services, free of charge. Riverside University Health System is also providing the NPLH tenants with services that promote tenant self-sufficiency, independence, and community integration. Financing for this property was facilitated by Hunt Capital Partners. St. Michael’s Apartments was developed using the 4 percent Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (Housing Credit).
