Vitalia Apartments is bringing 77 new affordable rental homes to families and individuals in the Cambrian neighborhood of San Jose. 50 percent of the homes are set-aside for residents with special needs, 14 percent for residents struggling with homelessness, 30 percent for residents in the Santa Clara County Rapid Rehousing population, and 6 percent for veterans facing homelessness and in the HUD VASH program.

This mixed-use development consists of a five-story residential building over garage parking. The property’s first floor has management offices, supportive service offices, community space, and common laundry. The first floor also includes roughly 600 square feet of commercial space.

The design of the building features two-wings connected by a two-story open-air lobby and bridge with a community roof deck overlooking the surrounding mountains. The building opens to the outdoors through a lobby connected directly to a south- facing courtyard ringed by the common facilities and offices. The development is Green Point Rated and fully electric, supported by on-site solar energy generation.
