WHITE MOUNTAIN APACHE HOUSING AUTHORITY #6 AND #8

HON-DAH, ARIZONA

White Mountain Apache Housing Authority #6

The White Mountain Apache Housing Authority (WMAHA) completed this 46-home, new construction and acquisition/rehabilitation development in 2015. The property was developed within the boundaries of the White Mountain Apache Reservation: 23 of the tribe’s existing homes were rehabilitated in Whiteriver, AZ, and 23 new homes were built in Fort Apache, AZ.

Half of the development’s 46 homes are three-bedroom homes and the remaining homes are two-bedroom homes. All homes include amenities such as low-flow water fixtures, energy-saving appliances and attached carports.

In addition to investor equity through the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (Housing Credit) program, WMAHA also received a $460,000 grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank’s Affordable Housing Program (AHP), which significantly reduced the tribe’s financial contribution to the development.

Travois provided consulting and architectural services for the development.

This property was made possible through equity from the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, which was provided by RBC Capital Markets.
