The AHTCC’s Fall Meeting and Charles L. Edson Tax Credit Excellence Awards took place in Washington, DC, on Thursday, September 23. This in-person event featured remarks from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Marcia L. Fudge, as well as Senator Todd Young (R-IN), Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (D-WA), and Congresswoman Jackie Walorski (R-IN) who also received the AHTCC’s Affordable Housing Champion Awards.
Throughout the day, the AHTCC honored recipients of the 2020 and 2021 Charles L. Edson Tax Credit Excellence Awards, which recognize outstanding affordable housing developments, including the 2021 and the 2020 recipients since we were not able to hold an in-person ceremony last year. The AHTCC received engagement from over 40 members of Congress who celebrated the award Edson Awards recipients. During the event, we also honored Fred Copeman with our David Reznick Lifetime Achievement Award for his exemplary service to the affordable housing industry and held timely panels on issues impacting the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (Housing Credit).
