On May 21 and 22, 2024, the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition (AHTCC) and Housing Advisory Group (HAG) co-hosted the 2024 Affordable Housing Symposium in Washington, DC. Attendees heard remarks from Senators Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and Todd Young (R-IN) and Representatives Darin LaHood (R-IL-16) and Claudia Tenney (R-NY-24), and Biden Administration officials, including Siobhan Kelly, Associate Director, Federal Housing Finance Agency’s Office of Multifamily Policy and Analytics, and Aaron Shroyer, Housing Lead, National Economic Council in The White House.
Attendees also heard updates from congressional staff representing members on key House and Senate committees, and insights from industry leaders and advocates about the latest issues impacting the Low-Income Housing Credit (Housing Credit). After the symposium, all participants were invited to attend a networking reception with key members of Congress and staff.
The following day, on Wednesday, May 21, 2024, the AHTCC and Housing Advisory Group arranged congressional meetings for over 60 participants with nearly 35 congressional offices as part of the Symposium, to continue building support for the Housing Credit and the Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act (AHCIA).

Congressional Reception
After the general meeting, event attendees were invited to a Congressional Reception to network with members of Congress and staff, during which 2 members of Congress and many congressional staff attended. The Congressional Reception featured remarks from AHCIA of 2023 lead sponsor Representative Darin LaHood (R-IL-16).
