The Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition (AHTCC) hosted the 2024 Fall Meeting and Charles L. Edson Tax Credit Excellence Awards (Edson Awards) on Tuesday, September 24 and Wednesday, September 25 in Washington, DC.
During the event, attendees heard remarks from members of Congress, including Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden (D-OR), House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO-8), and Representatives Darin LaHood (R-IL), Mike Kelly (R-PA-16), and Suzan DelBene (D-WA-1). The ten winning properties of the 2024 Edson Awards were also recognized during the event, with additional members of Congress in attendance to present the awards, including Sens. Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and Pete Ricketts (R-NE), and Reps. Mike Carey (R-OH-15), Lou Correa (D-CA-46), Mike Flood (R-NE-1), Greg Landsman (D-OH-1), Rick Larsen (D-WA-2), Jan Schakowsky (D-IL-9) and Ritchie Torres (D-NY-15).
Attendees also heard updates from congressional staff representing members on key House and Senate committees, and insights from advocates about the latest issues impacting the Low-Income Housing Credit (Housing Credit). The following day, on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, the AHTCC coordinated congressional meetings for over 50 participants with nearly 30 congressional offices.
