AHTCC Adopts 2025 Legislative and Regulatory Priorities

Since 1988, the AHTCC has been at the forefront of efforts to protect, strengthen, and expand the Housing Credit. At our Annual Meeting we adopted our 2025 legislative priorities, and will continue advocating for tax legislation to include proposals which increase Housing Credit production. We especially urge the enactment of proposals in the AHCIA with the greatest impact, which were included in the bipartisan Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act of 2024, which would restore and expand upon the temporary 12.5 percent Trump-era allocation increase that has now expired and lowering the bond financing threshold test.

In addition to advancing the AHCIA, the AHTCC supports other policies to support a robust Housing Credit investment market, promote Housing Credit regulatory flexibilities, and protect Housing Credit investment in efforts like Community Reinvestment Act reforms, lowering the Housing Credit risk weighting in Basel III framework, or any other regulations that may directly or indirectly impact the Housing Credit.
