Fifty Eight Hundred is an adaptive re-use project developed by Metro West Housing Solutions and syndicated by KeyBank that provides 152 units of much needed affordable rental housing near downtown Lakewood, Colorado. Before its transformation into affordable housing, the brownfield site was home to a long-vacant seven-story office tower, but now features unique, beautiful design and eye-catching public art. Fifty Eight Hundred employs an on-site Resident Services Coordinator to promote residents’ housing stability and self-sufficiency through a combination of resource referrals and on-site programming, such as children’s enrichment programs, cooking and nutrition courses, and financial literacy classes. The property also includes a “Cop Shop” on the first floor of the building where Lakewood Police officers are able to write reports, complete paperwork, and get to know the members of the community they’re serving.
