Hope Manor Joliet, developed by Volunteers of America (VOA) and with Housing Credit financing provided by the National Equity Fund, provides 67 affordable rental homes for veterans and their families at serious risk of instability. Hope Manor Joliet is on the former campus of the Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, Illinois and is one of the first large-scale, supportive housing developments in the country specifically designed for veterans with families.

Hope Manor Joliet features two- and three-bedroom apartments, a community room, resource rooms and a playground. Residents also benefit from on-site services including comprehensive employment readiness classes, peer support groups, individual and family counseling, family strengthening resources, youth programs, job training and coaching, computer training, a business resource center, access to recovery resources, mental health screenings, health and wellness center, emergency assistance for food, clothing and household items, and case management, and coordination of services with the nearby Joliet Community Based Outpatient Clinic and Hines Jr. VA Hospital.

Hope Manor Joliet provides much more than housing for veterans who are struggling – it helps veterans to improve their lives over the long-term by promoting self-sufficiency, building new skills, creating strong support networks and integrating veterans more positively into community life.
