LEE MERCANTILE LOFTS
SALINA, KS
Lee Lofts is the adaptive reuse of a five-story, historic commercial building built in 1904 in Salina, Kansas. The project, developed by Overland Property Group, LLC and Flint Hills Holdings is the first phase in a multiple-phase historic redevelopment of the H.D. Lee original mercantile complex. It was syndicated by Red Stone Equity Partners. Lee Lofts include one, two, and three-bedroom apartments targeting residents earning between 40% and 60% of the area median income (“AMI”) along with unrestricted market-rate apartments.
All amenities and common spaces in the development are handicap accessible. All five stories of the building and the community courtyard are also handicap accessible.
Lee Lofts is located along both, the Blue and Red Lines, with bus stops located within 0.1 miles of each bus line. The Blue Line provides access to east and north Salina while the Red Line provides access through the eastern and southeastern areas of the city. The nearest medical center is Salina Regional Health Center, which is located approximately 1.1 miles south of the Project.
Over 2,500 Salina residents, passionate about saving the buildings & redevelopment, signed a petition to the state agency requesting it be funded by 9 percent Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and over two dozen business owners wrote letters of support begging the state agency to award funding.
