Freedom’s Path Chillicothe, located in southern Ohio, provides 60 affordable homes on the Chillicothe Veterans Affairs Medical Center campus. The property seeks to serve formerly homeless, at-risk of homelessness, or disabled veterans. It was developed by Communities for Veterans Development, , the same team who developed Freedom’s Path in Hines, IL and Augusta, OH. RBC Community Investments syndicated over $8 million of Housing Credit equity to make the development possible.

The design and location of the development enables residents to live in a walkable, supportive environment within close proximity to the treatment facilities and services located on the VA campus. The property also features a community room, fitness facility, media room, computer center, common laundry facilities, and basketball court, along with additional space for special needs service providers. A project-based VA Supportive Housing (VASH) contract subsidizes 31 of the units, and residents of those units are also served by VA caseworkers through the VASH program.
